I am a creditor of a lady, who is claiming bankruptcy.

I am wondering if a judgement granted in civil court in Alberta is a dischargeable debt?

I am hoping that this is a non dischargeable debt so that she still owes me.

It matters not if you obtained a judgment. The debt is dischargeable unless it belongs to one of the following categories:

  1. Student loan debt
  2. Unpaid child support or alimony
  3. Civil judgment awarded for bodily harm, wrongful death or sexual assault
  4. Debt obtained by fraud. The onus would be on you to obtain a declaration from a Court that the debt was incurred fraudulently by the bankrupt
